Taru Wangi Indonesia will be attending the IFEAT Conference 2026, from 19–23 October in Bangkok, Thailand. We won’t have a booth this year. Instead, we’re looking forward to spending the week meeting people, having conversations, and, most importantly, putting some patchouli oil in front of people’s noses.

Bringing the aroma of Indonesian patchouli to the global conversation
Patchouli has always been more than a product for us. We source our raw material directly through our farmer network in Sulawesi, and process and refine it at our facility in Yogyakarta. This gives us a close view of what happens along the supply chain, from the raw material and distillation process to the characteristics of the refined oils that eventually go into fragrance applications.
At IFEAT, we’ll be bringing several of our patchouli profiles to Bangkok, including Molecular Distilled (MD), Iron Free (IF), and Patchoulol fractions such as PA45, PA55 and PA65. We’d like to talk about the differences between them, too. They all start from the same botanical source, Pogostemon cablin, but processing changes the composition and, consequently, the way each oil smells.
And yes, we want to talk about supply too
Patchouli has been going through a challenging period, with prices moving significantly and availability becoming an important topic across the supply chain. We are experiencing these changes from the sourcing and manufacturing side ourselves.
Because we source directly from farmers and manufacture our own oils, we see the impact of changes in raw material availability and cost quite closely. We’re not a trader or a middleman simply moving oil from one place to another. At the same time, we know that what happens at the sourcing end is only one part of the picture.
So we’d like to hear from the other side, too. What are fragrance houses seeing in the market? How are buyers responding to the current price levels? Are requirements for patchouli oils changing? And how are availability and cost affecting the way patchouli is being sourced and used?
Let’s meet in Bangkok
If you are attending IFEAT Conference 2026, we’d be happy to meet for a coffee, talk patchouli, compare samples, and exchange views on the market. And if you’d like to smell the different patchouli profiles we’re bringing, even better. We are not exhibiting with a booth, so the easiest way to arrange a meeting with us is to contact taru@taruwangi.com or wangi@taruwangi.com.
We’ll be in Bangkok from 19–23 October and look forward to meeting you there.
