On April 22nd, 2026, the world celebrated Earth Day under the theme “Our Power, Our Planet.” At Taru Wangi, we marked this day by showcasing our commitment to a regenerative supply chain. As a leading supplier of premium essential oils, we believe our power lies in innovation that restores the Earth.

Here is how we are putting sustainability into action:
1. Soil Biorehabilitation in Sulawesi
Collaborating with PT Agricola Nusantara Baramineral, we are executing a large-scale biorehabilitation project in Sulawesi. By utilizing Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) and beneficial soil microbes, we transform degraded land back into fertile soil, directly combating deforestation through land restoration.
2. Zero-Waste & Circular Energy
We have closed the loop in our production. Our spent Patchouli biomass is processed into biomass pellets, which serve as a renewable fuel for our distillation units. This circular economy model significantly reduces carbon emissions and eliminates industrial solid waste.
3. Water Stewardship & Clean Waste Management
Responsible production means protecting our water sources. We implement water-efficient cooling systems during distillation and ensure all liquid discharge is treated to meet strict safety standards. Our goal is to leave the local water table as clean as we found it.
4. Empowering Local Farming Communities
True sustainability is impossible without social equity. We empower our Sulawesi farming partners with bio-technology and fair-trade market access. This partnership ensures that those who work the land are also the ones most motivated to protect it.
A Future Beyond Sustainability
At Taru Wangi, our dedication to the planet extends far beyond a single day. Every drop of our Patchouli oil represents a balance between industrial excellence and environmental stewardship.
